The red wine Il Carbonaione IGT, vintage 2007 from the winery Podere Poggio Scalette has been rated in 2011 with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich, impenetrable ruby colour. A fine mixture of earthy notes of black truffle and liquorice, with clear fruit behind it, blackberries and cassis, profound. Shoots off real fireworks on the palate, lots of juicy, crisp fruit, then unfolds with fine-meshed tannins, good drive on the finish.
