The red wine Il Carbonaione IGT, vintage 2009 from the winery Podere Poggio Scalette has been rated in 2012 with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich, impenetrable ruby violet. Compact nose, opens with notes of sandalwood, cloves, then some lily, lots of plums. Clear and straightforward, razor-sharp, shows a beautiful interplay between fresh fruit and mineral notes, fine-grained, polished tannins, spreads out beautifully.
