The red wine Il Carbonaione IGT, vintage 2008 from the winery Podere Poggio Scalette has been rated in 2011 with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich, impenetrable ruby violet. Lots of juicy berry fruit on the nose, intense aromas of elderberries, followed by fine tobacco notes. Lots of ripe berry fruit on the palate with a rich melting texture, supple, opens up with fine-grained tannins, with a finish of plums and tobacco.
