The sparkling wine Raventós i Blanc Blanc de Blancs, vintage 2020 from the winery Raventós i Blanc has been rated in 2022 by Anne Krebiehl with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Xarel-lo, Macabeu, Parellada, Malvasia from the region Conca del Riu Anoia in Spain.
A touch of flinty reduction initially informs the notions of green and yellow apple and yellow plum, a streak of lemon provides freshness. More air adds a tropical notion of passion fruit. The palate immediately brims with frothy foam that fizzes likewise with apple, yellow plum and more of that lovely citrus. The medium body has a lovely bitter almond edge and a dry, refreshing finish with a lovely echo of lemon.
