The red wine Casalferro Merlot Toscana IGT, vintage 2018 from the winery Ricasoli has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot
It has a sublime, bright ruby red colour. There is a barrel-like spicy nose with notes of fine oak, as well as plum, blackberry, and peppery malty notes on the finish. It is very fresh on the palate, with a crisp acidity, but without lacking body. Unfolding nicely, it is polished, with lots of juice, which keeps reappearing. However, it should be put away, as it will be a long distance runner.
