The red wine Brunello di Montalcino Piaggione, vintage 2012 from the winery Salicutti has been rated in 2017 by Kiem, Othmar with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Bright, powerful ruby with a garnet hue. On the nose opens up with accented savoury notes, nuances of cardamom, cloves and thyme, with plenty of ripe cherry in the background. On the palate powerful initially and when developing, opens with dense tannins, builds well, full drive on the finish.
