The red wine DOC Castello di Morcote, vintage 2015 from the winery Tenuta Castello di Morcote has been rated in 2017 by Martin Kilchmann with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc from the region Canton of Ticino in Switzerland.
An enormously dark, bold red. The nose is restrained, with some spice notes and aromas of red cherry, ivy and hot bell peppers. A touch of toast and incense also appear. The palate brings a powerful attack - dense and medium-bodied, supported by brittle tannin and spiky acidity. The finish is a bit rugged. Classic, acidic Merlot that needs time to soften.
