The sweet and dessert wine Recioto della Valpolicella Classico DOCG, vintage 2020 from the winery Tenuta Santa Maria has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem & Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella
Bright dark ruby with a slight garnet edge. Opens with notes of caramelised sugar, dried tomatoes and chutney of red Tropea onions. Grippy tannin on the palate, shows nice interplay, seems almost dry, lots of drive in the finish but a little rough.
