The red wine DONPÀ Aglianico del Vulture DOC, vintage 2012 from the winery Valiano has been rated in 2016 by Ulrich Sautter & Team with 88 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Aglianico from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Balsamic wood, herbaceous spice, powerful stature on the palate, comparatively fine tannins for Aglianico, but also with a slight sweetness and clearly drying alcohol. Seems like an Aglianico aiming for accessibility, which is somehow mutually exclusive. Good fruit on the finish, however, and length.
