Tasting Notes
A fragrance as if painted, pure pinot fruit, highly concentrated and complex, a trace of oak, but then mainly peppery, tarry, and with slate spiciness. Supple attack and then very gently filling the body with more and more of the finest leather, the powerful alcohol is elegantly reserved, with ripe acidity, ripe tannins, and ripe fruit. But this ripeness is not in the least above the norm. It is a very big wine and endlessly long.
