Caramel in the nose, a hint of Madeira, and a strong undertone of powder vapour. Smooth attack on the palate, then full-bodied, pithy acid backbone, powerful alcohol, altogether somewhat coarse and a little grown-up in the palate fruit, but also typical of the vineyard and very pithy in the slate-spicy aromas.
