The white wine »Réserve« Chardonnay trocken, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Bernhart has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 94+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Elegant aroma with delicate woody notes, smoke, hay, dried nettles and crispy bread crust. Dense and creamy on the palate with beautiful phenolics, the supporting acidity buffers the underlying suppleness well, giving the wine an enormous juiciness and a great drinking flow.
More about the tastingThe aroma reveals an interplay of reduction and oxidation: yeasty bitter almond aromas are just as vivid as an aroma of Boskoop apple. On the palate, the wine is very calm and relaxed: the phenolics are ripe and not astringent, carried by the acidity, which is seamlessly integrated into the powerful, but not fatty body. Experimental, but in a stylish and exciting way.
