The white wine »Réserve« Chardonnay, vintage 2021 from the winery Weingut Bernhart has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 93+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Carried bouquet with fine wood spice, some fresh sesame, young pine needles, pear, chestnuts and subtly roasted hazelnuts, stoney, mineral hints, slightly flinty. Powerfully built and sturdy "Réserve" with dense, extract-borne substance, emphatically dry, defined chalky minerality, slightly greenish walnut, good length.
More about the tastingLemon yellow colour. Complex aroma of star fruit, pear, peach, lime, combined with a slight reduction. On the palate an attractive saline minerality, hazelnut, a touch of bourbon vanilla, ideally balanced by very good acidity. Long finish.
