The natural wine »Holz & Ton« Weißburgunder, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Familie Sauer has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Rich, radiant golden yellow in the glass. Acacia honey is the scent, generally subtle and fine, with quince, dates, figs and candied orange zest. Smooth on the palate at the start and then increasingly with drive. A fruit core of quince, apple, citrus fruit and savouriness with a noticeable, ripe and fine phenolic finish.
