The white wine Nierstein Oelberg Chardonnay Alte Reben, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Gehring has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 91+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
The nose is dominated by ripe fruit notes, pear, yellow apple and pineapple, as well as wood savouriness and some flax, aniseed and vanilla. Juicy and round with a beautiful texture on the palate, the fine savouriness is not neglected in the powerful and voluminous body. Chiseled acidity, elegant and profound, with good length. Not yet at the end of its ageing potential.
