The white wine »Halbstück« Chardonnay, vintage 2023 from the winery Weingut Hemmes has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
The aroma is dominated by notes of pop corn and butter, and the vanilla note from the wood is also quite vivid. The palate combines substance and texture, also developing some alcohol drive and a little sweetness. A very powerful Chardonnay that still needs a little more maturity and similarly opulent food.
