The red wine »Vulkanstoff«, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Höfflin has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Spätburgunder from the region Baden in Germany.
Grapey aromas, red cherry, rosehip, also blossom, currants, subtle smoke, also milk chocolate. Emphatically slender on the palate, almost provocatively purist, the lively acidity is carried by the fine-meshed extract, the fresh red fruit emphasising the juiciness. With fine-grained tannins, it is the Kaiserstuhl in a new interpretation.
