The white wine »vom Kalkstein« Bretzenheim Chardonnay trocken, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut In den Zehn Morgen has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Nahe in Germany.
Day One: Ripe yellow apple with pear, mirabelle plum, nutty, also fine yeast and some quince and subtle malty savouriness in the appealing fragrance. Also starts on the palate with beautiful savouriness, smooth background, juicy, also fine tartness, pear and quince as fruit notion, the vivid acidity provides freshness, a trace of chalky minerality spreads in the background, elegant, animating. Day two: The spiciness in the nose has increased, gunpowder, fine smoke, pear, quince. More rested on the palate, the acidity is more integrated, the chalky minerality is given a good stage. Day three: Still very savoury on the nose and also peppery, more subtle in the fruit, pear, ripe lemon, also quince, a hint of orange peel. Smooth mouthfeel, finely chiseled acid vein, the spiciness and minerality persist.
