The red wine Südtirol Lagrein Steinraffler DOC, vintage 2012 from the winery J. Hofstätter has been rated in 2015 by Othmar Kiem with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Lagrein from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Lively, rich ruby-violet. Opens with fine spicy notes of cardamom and white pepper, juicy, dark cherry. Round and powerful on the palate, full-bodied, lots of ripe berry fruit, also beautifully juicy, then densely packed with fine and firm tannins, long finish.
