The sekt Riesling brut, vintage 2012 from the winery Weingut Josef Biffar has been rated in 2021 with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
On the nose, a subtle, yet not excessively ripe Riesling spiciness, a hint of yeast, lemon balm and meadow herbs. A very fine mousse on the palate, quite lean, piquant with a crisp acidity and restrained sweetness, a pleasant freshness and good length. You wouldn't give this sparkling wine seven or eight years on the lees, it is so vital. A very good accompaniment to food.
