The white wine »Substanz« Sauvignon blanc, vintage 2019 from the winery Weingut Marc Josten has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc from the region Ahr in Germany.
Medium yellow in colour, varietal primary fruit, ripe melon, pear and gooseberry, dried apricot, stony notes, some incense. Broad on the palate with lots of substance and tension, ripe acidity forms the backbone with the pronounced minerality. It has an un-German feel and is reminiscent of the Loire, yet is "substance" from the Mittelrhein.
