The white wine »Fumé Blanc« Bad Dürkheim Feuerberg Sauvignon Blanc, vintage 2019 from the winery Weingut Karl Wegner has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 92+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Deep golden yellow in colour. On the nose, there is a noticeable use of new oak, but the smoky tones don’t just seem to come from the wood, there is also a peppery, flowery varietal spice evident in the glass as well as ripe yellow fruit. The palate is supple and powerful, with promising texture, a firm, tangy-fresh backbone of acidity and a rounded creaminess on the long, fruit-driven finish.
