The red wine Cuvée XR, vintage 2015 from the winery Weingut Knipser has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Sweet cherry, bitter almond, plum and a hint of mint on the nose which is multi-layered, fresh and elegant. This elegance carries through to the palate, which impresses with its chalky and herbal-spicy taste. Its true ageing potential is only just beginning to emerge - this is outstanding and needs a lot of time.
