The white wine Gelber Orleans trocken, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Knipser has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Orléans from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Still extremely closed, showing only a very subtle hint of varietal savouriness and bitter orange. The attack is supple and soft then a slowly but intensely rolling acidity builds. Body and substance are very densely interwoven. Pithy and yet very powerful, only slightly accessible wine at the moment but with great ageing potential.
