The red wine Dirmstein Mandelpfad Spätburgunder GG, vintage 2019 from the winery Weingut Knipser has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 93+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Spätburgunder from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Red cherry and redcurrant, flanked by smoky notes on the nose. Hints of new wood, a herbal savouriness, some liquorice and crushed caraway also emerge. The palate is that of a powerful and tightly meshed Pinot Noir with good density and extract. The powerful tannins lend structure and longevity over a mineral base. Still very youthful, with good structure.
