The red wine Vigna Kressfeld Merlot Riserva Südtirol DOC, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut Kornell has been rated in 2021 by Othmar Kiem und Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Clear, intense ruby. Rich and inviting nose, with fine scent of blackberry, wild raspberry, then also tobacco and dark chocolate. Hearty and grippy on the palate, powerful with grippy tannin, ripe berry fruit and lots of spice, however, still seems a little unpolished on the finish.
