The red wine Südtiroler Merlot Riserva Kressfeld DOC, vintage 2013 from the winery Weingut Kornell has been rated in 2018 by Simon Staffler, Othmar Kiem with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Powerful, dense ruby with a fine garnet edge. Impressive nose with notes of ripe blackberry and raspberry, plus savoury notes, lots of cardamom, very vivid. Juicy and salty on the palate, opens with finely meshed tannins, rich dark berry fruit and a very long finish.
