The red wine Südtiroler Merlot Riserva Staves DOC, vintage 2015 from the winery Weingut Kornell has been rated in 2018 by Simon Staffler, Othmar Kiem with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Bright ruby, very rich. Compact and dense nose, shows appealing notes of ripe blackberry and mulberry, then fine savouriness components. Blooms richly on the palate, lots of sweet fruit, opens with finely meshed tannin, nice texture, very long finish, a palate pleaser!
