Tasting Notes
Light caramel with mocha and heart cherry - on the palate there are vivid phenolics, Assam tea, cedar wood and tobacco. Dates wrapped in smoked bacon. Heavy, stylistically rather "German" Pinot Noir with a masculine appearance due to the oak maturation.
More about the tastingSweet cherry and buttery notes on the nose, with some subtle wood and pepper. Silky and soft attack in the mouth, before ripe, fine-grained tannins in medium quantity emerge to support a core of extract sweetness. It's a touch animalistic in the savoury finish. Amazingly mild for an Kunstler Pinot - but with great elegance.
