The red wine Künstler Spätburgunder Hochheimer Stein, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Künstler has been rated in 2021 by Anne Krebiehl MW with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Rheingau in Germany.
A gorgeous note of iron oxide dances above the red cherry note, playing with the idea of petrichor. The palate is equally playful and switches its aroma over to fragrant conifer. Underneath the red fruit covers the spectrum of ripe strawberry all the way to crunchy cherry. There is both depth and touching tenderness here. A lovely, honest, unforced Pinot with much personality and inherent structure. A boon.
