The red wine Leithaberg DAC rot, vintage 2017 from the winery Weingut MAD has been rated in 2019 by Peter Moser with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Blaufränkisch from the region Leithaberg in Austria.
Dark ruby, with purple reflections, and a delicate bright rim. Attractive aroma of dark forest berry fruit, fresh cherry, discreet orange zest, and with lovely herbal savouriness in the background. Medium bodied on the palate, nice fruit sweetness, ripe cherry, gentle well-integrated tannins, freshly structured, with ripe plum on the finish, and some minerality on the aftertaste. It is already accessible.
