Subtly smoky notes from the wood, but also mineral and stony, flint, with notes of ripe Charentais melon and medlar. Full-bodied on the palate, slightly phenolic, a fullness well framed by the wood, pleasingly dry and serious in character, ripe acidity, a good tactile minerality, a versatile food companion.
