The red wine Walporzheim Kräuterberg, vintage 2022 from the winery Weingut Paul Schumacher has been rated in 2026 by Ulrich Sautter with 96+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Spätburgunder from the region Ahr in Germany.
Dark berries, ripe black cherry - a very intense, yet clear and not at all "loud" fruit. Balamic slate notes lurk in the background. In the mouth, the wine has a completely mineral-focused structure, chalky, like rock flour, with an ultra-fine tannin that is embedded in enamel and underscored by the penetrating tactile minerality on the finish.
