The red wine »1. Lage« Escherndorf Lump Spätburgunder trocken, vintage 2021 from the winery Weingut Römmert has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 90+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Franconia in Germany.
Light wood spice, smoke, juniper berry, red cherry, wild berries, blackberryish, also black liquorice. Supported and with a firm structure on the palate, the minerality of the site sets the scene for the Lump. The tannins in good dose are accessible, would benefit from further ageing.
