The red wine Retzbach Benediktusberg Spätburgunder Erste Lage trocken, vintage 2014 from the winery Weingut Rudolf May GbR has been rated in 2017 with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Franconia in Germany.
There is a powerful aroma of cassis, mixed with bitter herbal notes, sour cherry, and there is a touch of chocolate which tells us it is matured in oak barrels. On the palate it is rather a brute at the moment because the tannins have a drying effect, and its core has a harsh taste.
