The white wine »Superior« Weißburgunder trocken, vintage 2014 from the winery Weingut Andreas Diehl has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Weißburgunder from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Herbal savouriness, it is beginning to unfold but certainly not yet fully mature. Juicy and sinewy on the palate, taut and substantial, fine nerved and fresh, yet also with supple layers and an intense berry finish. It is a powerfully structured, mineral toned pinot blanc with good further ageing potential.
More about the tastingSpicy-sweet bouquet of candied fruit, some smoke and herbs reminiscent of borage, rocket and sage. Delicate toasted spice on the attack with sweet fruit extract and finely chiseled acidity. Herbal, fresh and tart finish. Grippy.
