The white wine »Fumé***« Sauvignon Blanc trocken, vintage 2016 from the winery Weingut Stern has been rated in 2017 with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
This has a subtle use of oak, behind which is a not too strong Sauvignon nose, with aromas of kiwi fruit, lemon peel, and pomelo. It is dense and powerful on the palate, with lots of drive and tension, and with so much substance that the smoky promises of the name are likely to come true.
