The white wine »Orange« Sauvignon Blanc ***, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Stern has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Medium yellow in colour. An intense nose of ripe yellow fruit, mango and gooseberry, orange peel and oil, with some fine herbal and spice notes of aniseed and cumin. Slender structure on the palate but with good density and a layer of ripe phenolics. Lots of savouriness and tannins help create profile, as well as a penetrating, distinctive tartness that's mouthwatering and sensitively crafted.
