The red wine Valbion Südtirol DOC, vintage 2020 from the winery Hotel Ristorante Weingut Stroblhof has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc, Merlot from the region Alto Adige in Italy.
Rich ruby with a slight purple tinge. Opens on the nose with light smoky notes, then lots of blackberry, some cassis, green-spicy components in the background. Reveals a lot of dense, pithy tannins on the palate, juicy initially and throughout, builds nicely, good texture, firm drive on the finish.
