The red wine »Applaus, Applaus« Rotweincuvée trocken, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Villa Hochdörffer has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 90+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Spätburgunder, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Black cherry, thyme and some wood on the nose. In the mouth with very fine, slightly mealy tannins, lots of juiciness, supple base, sweet, ripe fruit on the palate, integrated acidity. A very round, balanced cuvée with a delicate mineral tinge in the mid-weight category.
