The white wine »Löwenherz« Sauvignon blanc fumé, vintage 2021 from the winery Weingut Weik has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 93+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
The smoky wood notes are used with restraint, dominated by a varietal spiciness of black pepper, cassis and mint. On the palate, there is a refined interplay of substance, a layer of viscosity, a firm acid backbone and a finish aroma that has length and intensity without becoming tiring. A pithy, rich wine with excellent ageing potential.
