The white wine Weißer Burgunder *** trocken, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Zipf has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 91+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Weißburgunder from the region Württemberg in Germany.
Initially still yeasty, then with berries and nutty varietal aromas, almost like a Pinot Noir red currant in the fragrance, on the palate with quite a feisty appearance, strong stature, firm acidity, textured and savoury aromas balance the force. Extracted sweetness, great length. Very individual - the wood (500-litre barrel) is barely noticeable, yet the wine is structured and savoury.
