The white wine Sommerach Katzenkopf Traminer, vintage 2022 from the winery Winzer Sommerach – Die Genossenschaft has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Traminer from the region Franconia in Germany.
On the nose, an initial hint of wood, then a series of savoury aromas, allspice, aniseed, rose water and white pepper. On the palate, this is clearly a wine of Grand Cru status: The finest, yet intense phenolics within a supple structure, well-integrated acidity and a clear mineral base. Rich, balanced, stylish, long and quite simply, superb!
