Lima Takes Centre Stage
The World’s 50 Best Restaurants has announced that its 2026 awards ceremony, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, will be held in Lima, Peru, on 4 November 2026. Organised in partnership with PromPerú, the event will mark the first time the globally renowned restaurant ranking is hosted in South America.
The announcement further cements Peru’s reputation as one of the world’s leading culinary destinations. At the 2025 awards in Turin, Lima’s Maido was named The World’s Best Restaurant, becoming the second Peruvian restaurant to reach the No.1 spot within three years.
Ahead of the awards ceremony, Lima will host a week of signature 50 Best events, including #50BestTalks, Signature Sessions, the Chefs’ Feast, and several special award presentations, bringing together leading chefs, industry professionals and food enthusiasts from around the globe.
According to 50 Best, Lima was chosen for its rich culinary heritage, biodiversity and internationally acclaimed dining scene, while Peruvian tourism authorities see the event as a major opportunity to further position the country as a premier destination for gastronomic travel.
