Top chefs bring a vibrant, high-quality dining concept to Slussen – without the fine-dining formality

A New Chapter at Slussen

Stockholm’s evolving Slussen district is set to welcome a major new culinary player as acclaimed chefs Tommy Myllymäki and Pi Le launch their latest concept, Liv, on May 19. Located in the newly developed Mälarterrassen, the restaurant marks the duo’s first venture on Södermalm and an opportunity to build something entirely from scratch.

Rather than leaning into the fine-dining format that defines their two-Michelin-starred restaurant AIRA, Liv aims to establish itself as an accessible yet high-quality meeting place – a restaurant the chefs themselves would want to visit.

High-Level Cooking, Relaxed Atmosphere

“We want to broaden Stockholm’s restaurant scene and create a place where everyone feels welcome,” says Myllymäki.

The ambition is clear: excellent food without stiffness. Pi Le emphasizes a warm, social setting over formality, positioning Liv as a lively hub for dining and gathering rather than a traditional gastronomic destination.

Dining with a View

The 373-square-metre space features sweeping panoramic views over Gamla Stan, enhanced by expansive glass façades and generous natural light. A large outdoor terrace will extend onto the newly created square, further integrating the restaurant into the vibrant waterfront setting.

Liv is part of a broader vision for Mälarterrassen, where six distinct restaurant concepts are planned, aiming to establish the area as one of Stockholm’s key gastronomic destinations in the coming years.

A Strong Culinary Track Record

Myllymäki and Le are no strangers to shaping Stockholm’s dining landscape. Together, they run several high-profile venues, including AIRA, Bobergs Matsal, and Akvileja, and were recently entrusted with creating the menu for the 2025 Nobel Banquet.

With Liv, however, the focus shifts: from accolades to atmosphere, from exclusivity to inclusivity.

Liv opens on May 19, with reservations released one month at a time via restaurangliv.se.
