The franciacorta Pas Operé Extra Brut Franciacorta DOCG, vintage 2014 from the winery Bellavista has been rated in 2020 by Othmar Kiem und Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Chardonnay, Pinot Noir from the region Lombardia in Italy.
Intense golden straw yellow. Fine multi-layered nose of blossom honey, dried apples and vanilla, with aeration delicate brioche notes underpinned by citrus zest and aniseed. A filigree mousse caresses the palate, very full-bodied and complex with a gentle acidity nerve testifying to considerable elegance. With a fruit rich underlay and salty mineral undertones it has great length with subtle hints of herbs. It is a nuanced food wine.
