The sweet and dessert wine Recioto della Valpolicella Classico DOCG, vintage 2017 from the winery Zenato has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Corvina Veronese, Rondinella , Oseleta
Deep, radiant rich ruby with violet glints. Marzipan, roasted walnuts, baked apple, sultanas, and a rich hardwood tone followed by a hint of cinnamon in the background. On the palate, dense and with a lot of tension, ample ripe fruit without being cumbersome, shows a good amount of savoury wood nuances. Still youthful, but it will eventually come together.
More about the tastingPowerful, bright ruby red with an impenetrable core. Opens up to ripe wild berry fruit and black cherry, some rum steeped fruit and fine cedar wood. Expands powerfully, with notes of cocoa and tobacco, well-embedded tannins and a harmonious long finish.
