Aragawa to Open First Restaurant outside of Japan

Steak lovers with deep pockets can rejoice – Aragawa, where you can savour Kobe beef for a cool US$400, is set to open its first restaurant outside of Japan. According to The Telegraph newspaper, Aragawa will open on Clarges Street in Mayfair in May 2022.
Aragawa, which was established in 1967, specialises in serving Kobe beef from Tajima-gyu, grilled using a Binchozumi oven fired with local wood, paired with European wines. However, you can also find smoked whole salmon cooked in a kiln on the menu at its Tokyo establishment as well.
Expensive beef
HotDinners reports that Aragawa's founder Kotaro, along with Head Chef Kazuo Imayosh, are behind the London restaurant which is being designed by Dale Atkinson who's responsible for the look of London restaurants Norma and Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar's Mathura.
Dining there isn't likely to come cheap though...Forbes included Aragawa in a list of the world’s most expensive restaurants, highlighting its price tag of US$500 for Kobe beef plus a steakhouse menu.
