Amen! A London chapel now includes a hotel

UK

A converted chapel in Camden will be home to London’s newest boutique hotel.

Have you always wanted to spend the night on holy ground? Now there is an opportunity in London: a new hotel is being created on four floors above a church in the district of Camden. The new hotel is part of a mixed-use project that includes a regenerated worship and community space for the church on the lower ground floor, and 38 new boutique bedrooms over four further floors – Camden Methodist Church was built as a Wesleyan chapel in 1824.

The Wesley Camden Town will be the first UK sister property to The Wesley Euston, a 100-bedroom hotel and conference centre located near Euston Station, named the UK's ‘first ethical hotel’ ten years ago. A £9million investment and two years of construction will create The Wesley Camden Town, both hotels named after John Wesley, co-founder of the church.

Famous attractions

Future travellers can stay within a few minutes’ walk from some famous attractions including Camden Lock Market, with Regent’s Canal, London Zoo, Jewish Museum London and Madame Tussauds in the broader surroundings. The hotel is expected to be popular with rail travellers from North West England and the Midlands, and with travellers using Eurostar out of St Pancras.
