Beach Access in Sardinia Now Requires Online Reservations
In the future, beachgoers will no longer be able to visit Tuerredda Beach in Sardinia on a whim. Instead, swimming spots must be reserved online for a fee. The reason for this is the large crowds at the famous beach.
If you want to visit the famous Tuerredda Beach in southern Sardinia, you should plan your time carefully: a spontaneous day at the beach is no longer possible here. As it did last year, the municipality is once again relying on a digital reservation system this season to manage visitor traffic and reduce pressure on this fragile natural paradise.
Online Tickets and Visitor Limits
Known for its fine white sand and turquoise waters, the beach is one of the island's most popular beach destinations. However, especially during the summer months, it regularly reaches its capacity limits. To reduce the impact on the environment and the coastline, admission is only permitted with an online ticket booked in advance.
The number of guests is limited to about 1,100 people per day. Anyone who does not use their reserved time slot by the deadline will lose their right to the spot. There is also a fee of one to two euros per person for visiting the beach.
Additional protective measures have been in place at Tuerredda Beach for several years now. For example, smoking on the beach, leaving behind plastic trash, and taking sand, stones, or shells home are prohibited.
Reservations Required on Sardinian Beaches
With the introduction of mandatory reservations, Tuerredda Beach is following a growing trend. Many Sardinian beaches now require reservations through websites or apps and have a set visitor limit, such as La Pelosa, San Teodoro, Cala dei Gabbiani, Cala Biriala, Cala Goloritzé, and Cala Mariolu.
